With 275 students reporting for school this year, we are in need of tutors. Of the 275, 70 are new students from the public school system. Many of our students are in need of remedial tutoring in math, reading and grammar. Tutoring times are available throughout the day, depending on each individual teacher’s schedule.
The mission of our school has its roots in Isaiah 58:12. We seek to restore a heritage of character, hope, and a love of learning through a Christ-centered education for our young men and women. As we work in this population, we realize that a hard reality is the epidemic of fatherlessness among our young students, particularly the young men we serve. This epidemic is why we believe God has blessed us with male teachers and staff members. Forty five percent of our full time staff is male, high above the current ratio of male to female teachers nationwide.
While this blessing of strong male figures in the lives of these young men is a beginning, the need for men of strong faith and good character is overwhelming. Likewise, our young women long for deeper relationships with godly women.
